AT HOME WHITENING TRAYS
far our most popular and reliable methods of whitening utilizes
custom trays fitted for each patient. Gel is applies to the trays
after brushing and flossing and fitted onto the teeth. The trays
are worn for two hours a day for an average of two weeks. A follow
up appointment is done to determine the amount of "whiteness"
CREST WHITENING STRIPS
form of whitening utilized "strips" which cover the front
six teeth of the top and bottom. There are two strengths, the "professional"
and the "supreme".
"professional" strips are twice as strong and the "supreme"
strips are four times stronger than the over the counter strips
found at your local drugstore. These strips are used twice a day
for 30 minutes at a time for three weeks.
IN OFFICE WHITENING
procedure takes about an hour and a half in the office. Your teeth
are cleaned, isolated, and dried. The gel placed is stronger than
the gel used for the "at home trays". A "special
light" is used to activate the material. After direct light
on each tooth is placed, the material is washed off and the procedure
is repeated up to two to three times depending on the sensitivity
level. After this procedure is finished, it is pertinent that you
REFRAIN FROM SMOKING, EATING, OR DRINKING ANYTHING except water
for the next (4) four hours because the material is still effective.
Drinking or eating anything with "color" in it will turn
your teeth "that color".
General Whitening Instructions:
all the above procedures, you must refrain from eating or drinking
"dark colored" foods or drinks during the duration of
whitening, to help facilitate the procedures. Smoking especially
will decrease the effect of the material. REMEMBER, THE GOAL IS
TO WHITENING YOUR TEETH. We recommend the use of whitening toothpastes
to maintain the level of your teeth.
